Athanassios Argiriou
Athanasios Argiriou, Associate Professor
Dr. Athanasios Argiriou was born in Athens (Greece) in 1960. He graduated at Degree level in Physics at University of Patras in 1983. In 1987 he received his PhD at Universite de Provence (Aix - Marseille I), France. He is the Head of the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics at the University of Patra since 2006. Also, from 2010 to 2011 he was Director of the Section of Applied Physics and from 2011 to 2013 he was Deputy President of the Department of Physics at the University of Patras. His research interest are in the field of Stable Isotopes (18Ο & 2Η) in rainfall and in atmospheric vapor, methods for meteorological time series homogenization and Artificial Intelligence methods applied to weather and environmental time series and to other meteorological data.
Michele Dassisti
Michele Dassisti, Associate Professor
Dr. Michele Dassisti is an associate Professor at the Engineering Faculty of the Politecnico di Bari – Italy since 2001; coordinator of the Section “Production, Economics and Industrial Plant” at Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica e Gestionale –Politecnico di Bari; Founders of the Italian Pole of the INTEROP-VLab.It (Virtual Laboratories for Interoperability), a node of the European V-Lab, organiser of several scientific national and international conferences and events, guesting also special issues on scientific journals on advanced research topics. Quality Manager of Politecnico di Bari from 2002 to 2010, official auditor of TQM prise for the Italian Association of Quality, auditor SA8000, past system auditor for CRUI (Italian Conference of Rectors) for University assessment. Official expert on behalf of Puglia Region and Italian Ministry of Research for evaluation of innovation and research projects.Regularly teaches official university, master and professional classes on « Industrial Quality Management » and « Manufacturing Technologies » and « Continuous process improvement and innovation » . Member of the Board of some Doctoral Schools. Since 1991 participates in research groups for different national and international research and didactical projects. Promoter and scientific responsible of the multidisciplinary inter-faculty didactical project VELANTE, for the Design and Engineering of innovative transportation eco-sustainable devices made of traditional and innovative materials. Organiser of the HY.REN.S. lab for the research on hybrid systems for renewable energy production.Research interests concern the use of advanced techniques for optimisation of several manufacturing technologies; sustainable manufacturing assessment and design ; the design and implementation of different methodologies for production planning and control; metrology and its application to technology assessment; design and interoperation of distributed manufacturing systems, the implementation of several advanced techniques for quality management and control.
Peter Kadar
Peter Kadar, professor
Kadar, Peter received Power Engineering diploma at Technical University of Budapest 1987; PhD 1994; MBA at Open University, UK. He works in the area of the Power System control and renewable energy. He is a professor at Óbuda University, Budapest, Hungary and gives lectures about energetics, energy management, renewable systems and informatics in the energy sector. He is the director of the Power System Department of Óbuda University. He is also member of Hungarian Electrotechnical Association since 1985, 1990, of IEEE since 1992 and CIGRÉ, member of organising committees of conferences. Treasurer of IEEE HS in 2003-2004, Secretary of HS 2005-2008, vice chair 2009-2012. He has more than 110 publications.
Vitezslav Benda
Prof. Vitezslav Benda, PhD, FIET
Vitezslav Benda was born in Dvur Kralove n.L. (Czech Republic) in 1944. He graduated at MSc level in Solid State Physics at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1967. From 1967 to 1973 he worked in the R&D department of CKD Semiconductors. Since 1973, he has been at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he was awarded a doctoral degree in Electrotechnology (PhD) in 1976. Since 2001 he has been a Professor in Materials and Technology for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Department of Electrotechnology of CTU in Prague.
He specialises in electronic materials and devices, especially in the physics, technology and diagnostics of power semiconductor devices and in photovoltaics. In the field of photovoltaics, he gives lectures on “Solar Energy Application Systems”, “Electrochemical Sources and Photovoltaics” and “Photovoltaic Systems” at the Czech Technical University in Prague, and lectures on Photovoltaic Cells and Modules Physics and Technology at PhD course on Photovoltaics at Aalborg University. Since 2002 he also gives lectures on Photovoltaic Cells and Modules Physics and Technology in the framework of Sommer School on RES, in Patra (Greek).
He was awarded the Czechoslovak State Prize for Technology in 1980 and the Merit Award for inventors in 1989. He is author or co-author of 11 textbooks, 19 Czechoslovak patents and more than 100 papers. Prof. Benda is a Fellow of the IET, and serves as Chairman of the IET Czech Network. He is also a committee member of the Association of Innovative Entrepreneurship of Czech Republic. He has served as a member (or as chairman) of the organising or programme committee of several international conferences and as a referee for IEEE and EPE conferences and international journals and as a guest editor of special issues of international journals. Every two years (since 2002) he organises International Workshop on Teaching Photovoltaics IWTPV, oriented on present problems in teaching photovoltaics.
